"Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" & "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls"

Perhaps one of the stupidest movies ever made, "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" was (and still is) a cult hit that spawned an immediate sequel ("Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls"), a cartoon that ran for three seasons (which mostly everyone forgot about), and a widely ignored third movie. We're just discussing "Pet Detective" and "When Nature Calls"in this post, as I don't own any of the cartoon, and watching just the courtroom scene of the third movie by accident made me hate everything in this world for about five minutes. This is also a rare instance where the sequel is significantly better than the original.

That's right, a double feature!
Let's not spend too much time on this. These movies were not groundbreaking. There was nothing amazing in them. They were not well-shot, the scripts were not good, the plot had nothing of interest, and everything about them was very linear. Yet, anyone who has ever seen these movies (and even some who have not) have surely quoted them intentionally at least once. The greatest thing these movies have going for them is comedic delivery. Jim Carrey delivers many lines with either perfect timing, or just a tone of voice that gets you cracking up.

Another great feature of these movies - the second one particularly - is the use of trained animals. Especially Spike! He's adorable!

This movie is not for everybody. If you love it, you could watch this movie every day for the next five years and never grow tired of it. If you haven't seen it, you probably will never see it. And if you do, you probably won't enjoy it. There are many ridiculous moments. By "many", I mean "there is relatively little that is not ridiculous". I mean, just watch one of the most beloved scenes of this duo. If you don't think this is hilarious, stay away, because it doesn't get much better for you from here.
