"Accepted"

Let's be honest, "Accepted" was a fairly forgettable comedy about a group of misfits who were rejected from all the colleges they applied for, so start their own college to steal money from their parents. Things take a turn when they find that other students have found themselves accepted into the fake college. Bartleby (played by Justin Long) struggles with allowing everyone to feel accepted in a world that doesn't want them, and keeping everything under control.

But better, don't worry

As I said, it's fairly forgettable: Justin Long plays a nerdy, accident prone loser you can't help but root for; Blake Lively is a clueless "girl next door" type; Lewis Blake just gets to be himself with a different name. There's nothing ground breaking, but nothing bad. It's just a generic comedy. Better than any of the American Pie movies. Not an Edgar Wright movie.

Act 2 is a short bit where the scheme is ruined by a nearby college who wants to be ivy league (but they're local state school?). Everyone goes home, there's a depressing song in the background, and then Bartleby and crew decide to apply for accreditation as a licensed college. Everything happens exactly as you would expect it to.

There's not much to say about it. I enjoy the movie. There's definitely a a love for punk in this movie, which I love. There's little real plot, and what plot there is is very unrealistic. It is a fun watch. If you like generic comedies geared towards millennials check it out. If you dislike generic comedies geared towards millennials, skip it.

By the way, how lucky is Justin Long that his parents just pay for an entire year of college for him up front without ever applying for a loan? Does that happen in real life for non-Ivy League schools?
