"Death to Smoochy" (2002)

I hope you're ready for this. This is one of my favorite movies, and hands-down my favorite movie that contain either Edward Norton or Robin Williams.

"Darkness Falls" (2003)

Unfortunately we're not just reviewing the music video by Killswitch Engage. We're reviewing something much, much worse.

Don't believe anything written on this movie case. The quote holds no truth, and I have no idea what the hell that tagline is trying to say.

"The Darkest Hour" (2011)

Two young-and-hopeful American web designers travel to Moscow in hopes of closing the deal that will make them big, only to find that their idea was stolen and their services are no longer needed. While getting drunk to ignore their problems, they meet up with some fellow tourists through some terrible smartphone app that's some cross between Twitter and Tinder. Just in time for the power to go out at the night club and everyone begins getting killed by floating light creatures which turn out to be aliens that can go invisible, feed on electricity (but are also given away by electrical objects), can see through solid objects, and cannot see through glass.

"Cube" (1997) and "Cube Zero" (2004)

The "Cube" trilogy is a pretty decent sci-fi series. They are low budget and (mostly) poorly acted, but the premise is a good one. They are entertaining enough that you can look through their faults and find a fairly enjoyable story behind it. Unfortunately we only own the first movie and the third movie. The second one used to be available on Netflix once upon a time, but not any longer.

"Crimson Peak"

To me, "Crimson Peak" was nothing more than a disappointment. I love del Toro. And the promise of him doing a period horror movie starring Tom Hiddleston as the villain was everything I could ask for. Unfortunately for me, "Crimson Peaks" was much less "period horror" and much more "period romance with an occasional ghost". While I can see why some might consider this a good movie, it is not what was sold to me, and I find much of it to be completely unnecessary.

It's Been a While . . .

You may have noticed (or maybe you didn't?) that I've been pretty silent for a while. I could regale you with everything that's happened, but I think its easier to leave it at "we moved an don't have a comfortable place to watch movies."

Before the move happened, we had watched "Crimson Peak", which I did a review of and will be posting up in the next couple days. We are also going to get back to the list soon. It's been four months since my last post, and I miss the blog. Expect to hear from me soon. Even though I still don't have a comfortable place to watch.

"The Crazies" (2010)

The remake of a 1975 George Romero movie, "The Crazies" follows David (Timothy Olyphant), the sheriff of the all-American town of Ogden Marsh, Iowa. On the opening day of little league, one of the townsfolk inexplicably walks out onto the field with his shotgun, and David is forced to put him down. The next night, another citizen locks his wife and son inside their farmhouse and sets the home on fire. David thinks he figures out what is going on in his quiet little town when he finds a government plane downed in the local marsh, but he discovers this too little too late. The government has already taken the town off the grid, and the people have started to go crazy. That's when the government moves in and sets the town up for quarantine. David, his wife Judy (Radha Mitchell), his deputy Russell, and Becca (Danielle Panabaker) try to escape whatever is going on.
